Yamas!, the range of Greek and Cypriot cheeses developed and distributed by Futura Foods, will launch a new Chilli variant of its best selling Halloumi Burger Slices this July.
With an initial listing in selected Morrisons supermarkets nationwide, the product is expected to perform particularly well during the BBQ season.
Halloumi, which is typically made of sheep, goat and cow’s milk in Cyprus, has a high melting point, which makes it popular for grilling and serving either on burgers or as a vegetarian alternative for BBQ occasions.
Yamas! Halloumi Burger Slices offers the consumer a convenient format of this cheese and the new Chilli variant adds a new dimension to the product.
Rhian Kinman, Marketing Manager of Yamas! said:
“The UK imports over 3m kilograms of halloumi each year.
“That’s twice as much halloumi than its nearest competitor, Sweden, and our consumption dwarfs that of much larger countries such as the USA and China.
“It’s no surprise then that, with its highly innovative and unique format, Yamas Halloumi Burger Slices have been one of our best selling products since we launched the range last year.”
As with the original Yamas! Halloumi Burger Slices, Yamas! Chilli Halloumi Burger Slices are available to consumers in the Yamas! boxed packs containing four 50g slices.
RRP for each unit is £2.65 and the product is available to trade in cases of 10 units immediately.
The Yamas! Chilli Halloumi Burger Slices launch is being supported by a PR and promotional campaign.
In addition to the new Chilli Halloumi Burger Slices, the Yamas! range features four Greek cheeses, including:
· Mild Feta – made from 100% sheep milk. RRP £2.00 (200g)
· Smoked Greek Cheese – a new, smoked cheese made from authentic Feta. RRP £2.20 (150g)
· Halloumi Burger Slices – a vegetarian alternative or an addition to a burger. RRP £2.60 (4 x 50g)
· Saganaki – a savoury cheese, ideal for pan-searing. RRP £2.50 (150g)
Futura is the UK’s largest importer of Greek and Cypriot cheeses.
